Turning two plots into a £1m debt free asset
Planning was granted for four identical four bedroom homes at The Nursery.
Mr and Mrs Rogers built and retained the two rear plots, and still live in one of them. At the ages of 62 and 60, they did not want to take on the debt or development risk of building the two remaining front plots themselves.
Each front plot was valued at around £350,000, and the plan was simply to sell them on. But selling to an outside builder meant a stranger working right beside their home, with no guarantee on the standard of the finish and no fixed timeframe for the work. This was still where they lived.

The property is now rented for £4,000 per month, providing retirement income and a legacy asset to pass down to future generations.
